Edison 2009 in de categorie world-music

This album marks a turning point in the musical career of Izaline. With almost exclusively own compositions she took a giant step as a singer/songwritere. With ‘Mi Pais’, by now considered by a lot of Curaçaoans as the alternative national anthem, with ’Lalala’ and humoristic ‘Juny’. The tenth track is ‘Forsa’, perhaps the most beautiful song Izaline ever made. The CD was recorded with Marc Bisschoff on piano and Yerman Aponte on bass, who both turned out to be faithful and enduring bandmembers sticking with her uptill now. In the backing vocals we hear Giovanca Ostiana and Neco Novellas.

Izaline recieved for this CD an Edison, the most prestigious record-award in The Netherlands. It was presented to her while she was in hospital, about ten hours after giving birth to a healthy daughter.
